Our Story

Clarendon Home Care was founded by Jackie Jones in 1994. She drew on her many years of experience as a care worker and as a care manager at Richmond Council to envision a company that not only provided daily care and support to the elderly, but did so with the belief that no care is better than care received at home.


She saw the benefits that receiving care in a familiar environment can have on the independence, the physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing of elderly people.


“Care homes have improved a lot since I was a care worker but just as I did then, I still feel that people are happier and better at home. It always saddened me to see how the people I was looking after seemed to shrink in a care home environment when I had seen them flourishing in their own four walls just a short time before.”


“With Clarendon, it was my vision that we would treat each person with dignity and respect and that we would do our best to fit around their needs. I wanted to help wherever we could and to be honest and upfront when we couldn’t. I also wanted a place where carers could feel like part of something bigger and would be given the respect and rewards they deserve for the amazing job they do.”


The goals of Clarendon Home Care haven’t changed since our earliest days and Jackie is still an active director of the company who continues to instil her vision in everybody that joins us, from our care workers to our office staff and management team.


With the day-to-day running of the company now passed on to General Manager, David Vincent, and with Jackie’s son, Martyn Jones, still involved as a director, Clarendon Home Care is well placed to continue her work in the years ahead and to maintain the reputation it has worked tirelessly to build in the local community over more than twenty years.


Still a family-run business with family values at our core, we have established ourselves as a leading provider of care in the Surrey area. We are proud to have built our business and reputation on local word-of-mouth and on the quality of the services we provide.
